Ep 978 Buy Your Haters Roses

Let It Rip Friday: Why You Should Buy Your Haters Roses

What if the dirt people throw at you isn’t meant to bury you, but to become the ground you grow from?

On this week’s Let It Rip Friday, Linda Mitchell is talking about what happens when you start going after big dreams, stepping outside the box, and actually achieving the things you once only imagined. The truth is, when you give people something to talk about, some of them are going to talk.

There will be criticism. There will be opinions. There may even be people throwing rocks at what you’re building.

So what do you do with those rocks?

Build your house with them.

Instead of allowing criticism to make you shrink, quit, or question your worth, use it as fuel. Grow a thicker skin. Keep doing the work. Keep showing up. And remember that other people’s opinions do not get to determine the size of your dreams.

As Linda shares, “Be like seeds. Do not see dirt thrown at you as your enemy, but as ground to grow.”

And maybe instead of getting angry at your haters, you should buy them roses. After all, they may be giving you exactly the resistance you needed to grow stronger.

In This Episode, You’ll Hear:

  • Why criticism often comes when you start doing something worth noticing
  • How to stop allowing other people’s opinions to derail your dreams
  • Why you need thicker skin when you’re pursuing big goals
  • How to turn the rocks thrown at you into something you can build with
  • Why being talked about isn’t necessarily a bad thing
  • How criticism can become fuel instead of a roadblock
  • Why you should never shrink yourself to make other people comfortable
  • How to turn “dirt” into the ground for your next season of growth

The takeaway: Let them talk. Let them throw dirt. Let them throw rocks. You have a life to build and dreams to chase.

And while you’re at it, buy your haters roses. 🌹

Ep 975: Secret Service Investigator Reexamines Princess Diana’s Death

SHOW NOTES

What Really Happened to Princess Diana? Investigator Rich Staropoli Examines the Evidence

Nearly three decades after Princess Diana’s death, questions and theories surrounding the fatal Paris crash continue to fascinate people around the world.

In this episode of The Sisterhood of S.W.E.A.T., Linda Mitchell sits down with former U.S. Secret Service Special Agent Rich Staropoli, one of the investigators featured in FOX’s new special, Celebrity Crime Scene: Princess Diana.

Staropoli spent approximately 25 years with the U.S. Secret Service, holding supervisory positions within the New York Field Office, Presidential Protective Division, Counter Assault Teams, and Secret Service headquarters. He has conducted approximately 500 polygraph examinations and managed the Protective Intelligence Division in New York following 9/11. In 2016, he was nominated by President Donald Trump to become the first presidentially appointed Chief Information Officer for the Department of Homeland Security.

Now, he brings that investigative and protective-security experience to one of history’s most scrutinized tragedies.

Linda and Rich discuss how professional investigators separate evidence from speculation, what a virtual reconstruction can reveal about the crash, the questions that have fueled decades of theories, and how someone trained to protect high-profile individuals evaluates the events surrounding Diana’s final night.

They also dive into human behavior, deception, protective intelligence, threat assessment, and what Rich believes viewers should pay attention to when they watch the special.

In this episode:

  • How a Secret Service veteran approaches the Diana investigation
  • Evidence versus speculation and conspiracy theories
  • What the virtual crash reconstruction reveals
  • Questions surrounding vehicles reportedly in the tunnel
  • How investigators evaluate competing theories
  • Diana’s security through the eyes of a protection professional
  • What 500 polygraph examinations taught Rich about human behavior
  • Protective intelligence and threat assessment
  • Whether the investigation changed Rich’s own perspective
  • What viewers should watch for in the new special

Celebrity Crime Scene: Princess Diana premieres Thursday, August 20 at 8/7c on FOX and streams the next day on Hulu.

Takeaways

974 See Yourself There To Be There

EP 792: See Yourself There to Be There

On this Let It Rip Friday, Linda Mitchell talks about the importance of being able to see yourself where you want to go before you ever get there.

Every dream starts somewhere, and often, it starts in your mind. Can you picture yourself achieving the goal? Can you see yourself walking into that room, stepping onto that stage, building that business, changing your body, or becoming the woman you know you’re capable of becoming?

Sometimes we count ourselves out before we ever give ourselves a chance. We look at where we are right now instead of where we could be. But if you want to be there, you have to first see yourself there.

Linda encourages you to stop letting fear, doubt, circumstances, or other people’s expectations determine what you believe is possible for your life. Give yourself permission to dream bigger and begin creating a vision for the woman you’re becoming.

In This Episode:

Why you need to see yourself succeeding before you get there, the power of visualization and belief, how your thoughts can either move you toward your goals or keep you stuck, why you shouldn’t disqualify yourself before you even try, learning to picture yourself in rooms and opportunities that may feel bigger than you, taking action toward the life you envision, refusing to allow fear or other people’s opinions to write your story, and becoming the woman you can already see in your mind.

You don’t have to know exactly how you’re going to get there.

See yourself there. Believe you belong there. Then start taking the steps that will get you there.

Because sometimes, before you can be there, you have to see yourself there.

Ep 973 Scott Spiezio: The Comeback Harder Than Winning the World Series

Show Notes: Scott Spiezio

 The Hardest Comeback

What happens when you reach the pinnacle of success—and still find yourself fighting for your life?

On this episode of the Sisterhood of S.W.E.A.T., Linda Mitchell sits down with two-time World Series champion Scott Spiezio for a powerful conversation about what happened after the championships, the applause, and the fame.

Baseball fans remember Scott for his unforgettable three-run home run in Game 6 of the 2002 World Series, helping the Anaheim Angels complete an incredible comeback on their way to the franchise’s first World Series championship. He later captured another World Series title with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2006.

But Scott’s hardest comeback happened away from the baseball field.

In his new memoir, The Hardest Comeback, and documentary, SPIEZIO, Scott opens up about his battle with addiction, financial collapse, arrests, broken relationships, and the loss of the identity he had built around baseball.

Linda and Scott talk candidly about hitting rock bottom, recovery, forgiveness, faith, surrender, and what it takes to rebuild your life when you believe you’ve fallen too far.

They also explore a powerful question: What if the greatest victory of your life isn’t the one everyone applauds?

Sometimes we believe we know exactly how our lives are supposed to unfold. We make our plans, chase success, and try to control the outcome. But Scott’s story is a reminder that there can be something much bigger on the other side of surrender, and that our hardest chapters can ultimately become the ones that give someone else hope.
